Hastelloy c276 is a wrought alloy that consists of nickel, chromium and molybdenum in its chemical composition. The material is quite versatile and shows good corrosion resistance. The hastelloy c276 plate material can also effectively resist the grain boundary precipitate formation in the heat affected zone of the welding.
he C276 material can also resist pitting, stress corrosion cracking and oxidizing atmosphere up to 1037.7 °C. It can also show its optimal performance in a variety of chemical environments.
Hastelloy C276 Plate suppliers recommend the product as it is one of the few alloys that can resist wet chloride gas, hypochlorite and chlorine dioxide environments. It also shows exceptional resistance to strong oxidizing salts. Due to all these properties, the c276 material is recommended for sour gas applications, flue gas desulphurization plants, sulphuric acid reactors, etc.

The highest temperature resisted by the alloy c276 plate depends on the operating environment. In an oxidizing environment, the plate can maintain its optimal performance up to 1038 °C. Whereas, it is 1204 °C for reducing conditions.
The c276 clad plate is ideal for chemical, pharmaceutical and food processing equipment. It can also be used in flue gas desulphurization and pollution control systems. It is typically used in applications that utilize hallides or acid catalysts.
Generally, the corrosion rate of nickel alloy c276 plate is within 0.1-0.5 mm/y. Testing at different temperatures below boiling point and lower than 65 wt % concentrations, the corrosion rate we get is 0.13 mm/y.
