What is Hastelloy flanges ?

Hastelloy is a nickel based material that shows very high resistance to corrosion. The alloy contains chromium and molybdenum which enhances the properties. Hastelloy screwed flange shows great performance in both oxidizing and reducing environments, along with different corrosive media. They show exceptional resistance to both sulphuric and hydrochloric acids. Due to its properties, reputed Hastelloy flanges manufacturers recommend the products for chemical processing applications, especially the C276 grade.

The Hastelloy flanges have their standard sizes ranging between ½ to 12”. They are available with different standards & specifications and pressure classes from PN6 to PN 64 and higher. What are Hastelloy blind flange used for?

The Hastelloy blind flange can be used to close the end of a piping system for permanent or temporary sealing. It can be used during pressure testing or if there is a plan for future expansion of the piping system. The Hastelloy spectacle blind flange can also be used for maintenance or repair purposes and it can block piping equipment too like valves, pumps, etc. These can also be considered as safety devices that can reduce the risk of leaks and spills.

Is it possible to customize Hastelloy slip on flange?

How do Hastelloy c276 and Hastelloy c22 flanges differ?
  • Hastelloy c276 has higher molybdenum content whereas C22 has higher chromium content.
  • C22 offers higher corrosion resistance than C276.
  • C276 ASTM B564 Hastelloy alloy lap joint flange shows good performance within the temperature range of cryogenic to 1040 °C. C22 can be used up to 677 °C in oxidizing environments.
  • C276 is easily machinable while C22 is hard to machine.
  • C22 Hastelloy steel socket weld flange is slightly more expensive than C276.
