Hastelloy is a nickel based super alloy that shows high resistance to corrosion. It also has chromium and molybdenum as its main constituents. The hastelloy plate is also known for its high temperature resistance and hence can be used in industries like chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, etc. The material is quite ductile and hence can be formed easily. There are different grades of hastelloy like B, C, G and N. They possess good weldability and can be welded using standard procedures.
Hastelloy plate suppliers recommend the products for high temperature conditions because of their high melting point in the range 1323-1371 °C. Their min tensile strength can range between 690-783 MPa, depending on the specific grade. The plate also shows high resistance to different oxidizing agents and acids. Apart from normalized corrosion resistance, hastelloy can also withstand uniform attack and stress corrosion cracking.

The hastelloy alloy plate shows good creep resistance and low expansion at elevated temperatures. This is why, they are ideal for aerospace applications.

The hardness of the hastelloy strip will vary with its thickness. For example, 0.012”-0.090” thick sheet can have a hardness of 87 in Rockwell B, and for 0.091-0.312”, the hardness is 92.
The standard thickness of the strip is between 0.03-6 mm but clients can request customization based on their application. The corrosion rate of hastelloy is between 0.1-0.5 mm/y.
