What is Hastelloy tube ?

Hastelloy is a nickel based alloy that shows exceptional resistance to corrosion. They are quite versatile and gives good high temperature performance. The Hastelloy tube can be used in aggressive environments like petrochemical, chemical processing, etc. The alloy has added molybdenum which increases its strength and hardness at elevated temperatures. They have high ductility and can be easily fabricated or formed.

The Hastelloy metal bright annealed tube shows good resistance to highly oxidizing or reducing environments. There are different grades of the Hastelloy and each has some unique properties. Hastelloy coiled tubing material is premium and hence they are quite expensive than standard stainless or carbon steel. However, they offer unique properties which can help you with critical projects whose temperatures can go up to 1200 °C.

What is the hardness and corrosion rate of Hastelloy seamless tube?

The hardness and corrosion resistance of Hastelloy seamless tube can depend on the exact material grade. They can have moderate to high hardness depending on the specific alloy and processing. C276 has 89HRB hardness in the annealed condition. The corrosion rate will depend on the environment, temperature, pressure and other operational conditions.
