What precautions should I take when machining alloy 625 hex bar?
  • While machining alloy 625 hex bar, you should always use an appropriate cutting tool.
  • Use a generous amount of coolant to dissipate the heat generated during the machining process.
  • Inconel 625 is sensitive to the high heat generated during machining. Hence, the AMS 5581 hexagon bars should be machined at low to moderate speed which will avoid the overheating issue.
  • Adjusting the feed rate will help maintain a consistent chip load and also avoid excessive wearing of the tools.
