What is Nickel 200 plate ?

Nickel 200 is commercially pure wrought nickel with good mechanical properties and excellent resistance to different corrosive environments. The nickel 200 plate shows good magnetic and magnetostrictive properties. They have high thermal and electrical conductivities with low vapor pressure and low gas content.

Is heat resistant nickel 200 sheet possible?

The nickel 200 sheet has a low melting point, which means it can start deforming at relatively low temperatures compared to nickel-based alloys. They show limited strength at elevated temperature conditions. Thus, the Ni-200 Shim Sheet is suitable for low to cryogenic temperature applications.

What could harm alloy 200 sheet?
  • Prolonged exposure to concentrated nitric or sulphuric acids.
  • Exposure of the UNS N02200 Sheets to a temperature above 600 °C can lead to a loss of mechanical properties.
  • The material may form an oxide layer on its surface in an oxidizing atmosphere which can compromise its corrosion resistance properties.
  • The sheets should not be subjected to high mechanical stress or abrasion.
