Nickel 201 is the low carbon variant of Ni 200 material. This commercially pure nickel grade shows excellent resistance to corrosion. Due to the low carbon content in nickel 201 pipe, the risk of sensitization and intergranular corrosion is minimized. The material is resistant to various corrosive media like acids, alkalis and salts. They can withstand a wide range of temperature and has a low magnetic permeability.
The nickel 201 UNS N02201 round pipe possesses good electrical conductivity. Due to all these properties, the pipes are used in industries like electronics, chemical, petrochemical and aerospace. Regent Steel & Engineering Co. offers fully customized nickel 2.4068 hot finished pipe to meet application requirements. For us, maintaining quality, competitive rates and customer satisfactions are top priorities.
The alloy 201 pipe material has a melting point of approximately 1435 °C, which shows they are suitable for elevated temperature applications. However, the maximum temperature that the pipe can withstand is often limited by its corrosion resistance properties.
They might be susceptible to attack in the presence of strong oxidizing agents or concentrated acids in high temperatures.

Even though the UNS N02201 cold drawn pipe has good corrosion resistance properties, it is not completely immune to rust. Using the pipes in highly corrosive or aggressive environments like concentrated acids, can corrode them to some extent. Also, properly storing, handling and maintaining them is crucial to reduce the chances of rusting.
DIN 2.4068 cold finished pipe shows good corrosion resistance in a wide range of environments. This will include mildly corrosive, acidic and halide operational conditions. However, whether the pipes will corrode will depend on temperature, concentration of the corrosive agents and exposure time of the pipes.
