Super duplex 2507 pipe contains higher content of Chromium, Molybdenum and Nitrogen, which is entirely useful when dealing with increased resistance towards crevice corrosions. In environments where oxygen and chloride are in high levels, this material is widely used.
As a result, industries such as seawater, cooling, geothermal wells, desalinations, pulp and paper productions widely use WNR 1.4410 welded pipe for manufacturing or for other industrial uses. They have twice the strength in annealed conditions, then other stainless-steel alloys and as a result provide better corrosion resistance property.
Ideal environmental conditions such as temperature and pressure are set for alloy 2507 tube, for its efficient and long-term usage. It is ideal for use at temperature below or equal to 4500F or 2320C. These temperatures are set for sour environments in oil and gas production industries, if partial amount of hydrogen sulphide does not exceed 3 psi.
With maximum hardness of 32 HRC, it is suitable for use in sour petroleum refining. Stress corrosion cracking can also occur on stainless steel below temperature 600C, in aqueous conditions containing hydrogen sulphide and chlorides.
Duplex 2507 pipe is more prominent in use-case for acidic environments. But there are many more specialities that can be considered as an ideal case for its utilization in other industrial areas. Following are some main specialities of the material:

2507 stainless steel pipe contains higher contents of chromium and molybdenum, making it extremely resistant to corrosions by acids like acetic acids. It cannot be used in hydrochloric acids due to uniform corrosions.
In dilute sulphuric acids contaminated with chloride ions, it is even considered to have better corrosion resistance than 904L. With respect to inorganic acids, it provides excellent resistance, especially the one which contains chloride.
Super duplex 2507 tubing is used in areas where there is high level of chlorine or chlorides, such as seawater cooling, salt evaporation, desalination, geothermal wells, pulp and paper productions. Transportation industries also make use of these materials. They are also used for production and transportation of oil and gas.
When differentiating duplex 2205 and 2507 super duplex pipe, the very difference that comes up is from their composition. Following are 6 key differences between duplex 2205 and pipe 2507 super duplex.
