What is super duplex 2507 pipe?

Super duplex 2507 pipe contains higher content of Chromium, Molybdenum and Nitrogen, which is entirely useful when dealing with increased resistance towards crevice corrosions. In environments where oxygen and chloride are in high levels, this material is widely used.

As a result, industries such as seawater, cooling, geothermal wells, desalinations, pulp and paper productions widely use WNR 1.4410 welded pipe for manufacturing or for other industrial uses. They have twice the strength in annealed conditions, then other stainless-steel alloys and as a result provide better corrosion resistance property.

We are one of India's largest and highest-quality alloy 2507 tube Supplier from recognized mills, check maximum pressure and temperature conditions

What should be maximum pressure and temperature conditions in which we can use alloy 2507 tube?

Ideal environmental conditions such as temperature and pressure are set for alloy 2507 tube, for its efficient and long-term usage. It is ideal for use at temperature below or equal to 4500F or 2320C. These temperatures are set for sour environments in oil and gas production industries, if partial amount of hydrogen sulphide does not exceed 3 psi.

With maximum hardness of 32 HRC, it is suitable for use in sour petroleum refining. Stress corrosion cracking can also occur on stainless steel below temperature 600C, in aqueous conditions containing hydrogen sulphide and chlorides.

What are the speciality of duplex 2507 pipe?

Duplex 2507 pipe is more prominent in use-case for acidic environments. But there are many more specialities that can be considered as an ideal case for its utilization in other industrial areas. Following are some main specialities of the material:

  • corrosion: this pipe inherits excellent resistance to chloride-included crevice corrosions and suitable for environments high in chlorine.
  • Exposed temperature resistant: UNS S32760 pipe provides corrosion resistance in environments where temperature is either equal or less than 4500F or 2320C. If exceeded, it may result into embrittlement.
  • Mechanical properties: it contains twice more strength property as compared to an ideal austenitic stainless-steel metal or alloy. It can also be supplied to cold-worked conditions with yield strength exceeding 160 ksi.
  • Heat: This material cannot be strengthened by heat treating. The process od annealing is done at 1049-11270C, in association with rapid cooling.

what is 2507 stainless steel pipe rust property?

2507 stainless steel pipe contains higher contents of chromium and molybdenum, making it extremely resistant to corrosions by acids like acetic acids. It cannot be used in hydrochloric acids due to uniform corrosions.

In dilute sulphuric acids contaminated with chloride ions, it is even considered to have better corrosion resistance than 904L. With respect to inorganic acids, it provides excellent resistance, especially the one which contains chloride.

Where exactly super duplex 2507 tubing application?

Super duplex 2507 tubing is used in areas where there is high level of chlorine or chlorides, such as seawater cooling, salt evaporation, desalination, geothermal wells, pulp and paper productions. Transportation industries also make use of these materials. They are also used for production and transportation of oil and gas.

Top 6 difference between duplex 2205 and super duplex 2507 pipe?

When differentiating duplex 2205 and 2507 super duplex pipe, the very difference that comes up is from their composition. Following are 6 key differences between duplex 2205 and pipe 2507 super duplex.

  • Duplex 2205 is an alloy which is made with 22% Chromium, 1-3% Molybdenum, 5-6% Nickel and Nitrogen, which ensures that these materials are providing high corrosion resistance properties. The chromium content is high in duplex 2205. On the other hand, 2507 duplex pipe contains 25% chromium, 0-7% nickel and 4% molybdenum.
  • Duplex pipe 2507 provides more prominent corrosion resistance due to the presence of higher contents of chromium and molybdenum with their respective values being 25% and 4% respectively, when compared with duplex 2205. It exhibits positive behaviour when exposed in high-chloride environments.
  • With respect to tensile and yield strength, UNS S32760 pipe is stronger than duplex 2205, it is well suited for scenarios which require more pressure resistivity.
  • It has lower alloy contents, making it a fit material to be used for welding purpose. Using this material, one can easily weld and as a result exhibit good weldability.
  • Due to the presence of higher contents in this material, it tends to be costlier than duplex 2205. But once purchased, it assures long term investment and longevity, by providing more prominent corrosion resistance.
  • With respect to application, both duplex 2507 welded tube and duplex 2205 are unique in their mode of applications. Moreover, since this material lends more prominent corrosion resistance and is known for its higher strength, it is more in demand than duplex 2205.
